Argentina tour 2007

I was looking through my photo database this morning when I came across these images taken in Argentina a few years ago. I was lucky enough to go with the 4ths, a local rugby team and bunch of friends here in Cape Town. Although I’ve never played rugby in my life I had assisted them in a small way to raise funds for the tour by shooting a calendar for them, it was well worth the effort on my part!

The thing that struck me about Argentina is the contrast between the wealthy and the poor, you can walk from upmarket apartments to slums in just a few blocks! We visited Buenos Aires and Rosario. The main shopping area is wide walkway called Florida Avenue and is filled with buskers, beggars and shoppers. Stray dogs seem to be everywhere, this was more the case with Rosario and none of the locals take any notice of them. There are old rustic buildings and cars all over the place in short it’s a travel photographers dream!
