Who knew the Cape Doctor had the strength to ground Superman, to add insult to injury the road closures put an end to any hopes of at least using a car, instead it seems he found himself on a mission using a bicycle! I wonder if he ended up having his PB (Personal Best) shattered by the wind like everyone else, I hope his mission was of low importance! Okay so perhaps it was an impersonator, I can say helicopters were grounded resulting in no air coverage whatsoever!
Yesterday I did an event shoot at what must be the windiest Argus in history, I just looove the wind, it is definitely my favourite of all the elements and does not disrupt moods, mess hair or blow equipment all over the place generally make working very pleasant! (Yes I am indeed being sarcastic!) I thought I’d experienced the worst wind there is but yesterday set a new bar, how there were not more accidents I have no idea. People were literally being blown off their bikes.
Any hopes of new PB’s were shattered, many people began the race with bemused smiles as the wind blew and blew and blew, I’m sure the very first hill no matter how gentle quickly wiped the smirk off any face in a hurry!
To everyone and anyone who completed the Argus in any time no matter how long it took I salute you.. you achieved more than I would have!
