I got this fantastic shot of Andre and his “new mom” on Saturday, I was standing at the bar when I looked up, not wasting any time I clicked away – shoot first think later! As I pressed the release I remember thinking “I really hope this comes out!” luckily it did, I already had the camera set up since I’d been doing high iso natural light shots before.

These are the little moments that fleet by, there is nothing better than seeing the reaction on the couples face when you show them – “where the heck were you, I didn’t even know you were around!!” It’s that “camo facepaint” and collection of reeds I put in my hat I tell them, that and years of covert training in the CIA!!

For this post I decided to try something different by showing only “grained-up-film-feel” Black and White images. For the longest time I’ve been toying with either doing and black and white only package or doing a black and white album, there is something about the colourless images that always gets such a great reaction, why not fill an album with only reactions :)

The images were taken at Jana and Andre’s wedding on Saturday, the weather was horrible (for the people) but great for photos as far as I’m concerned! Jana called me around 9 in the morning very stressed about the photos, I said don’t worry we can postpone! … there was a loooong silence on the other side ;)

I told her not to worry at all, as long as she did not mind getting the dress a bit wet.. okay wet!! Blue skies are wonderful but it’s always great to get something different I thought we had some of the best photo weather ever!

Please let me know what you think!

Great photographs, and I totally agree about the black and white only album. Just waiting on a bride to agree with me.

Awesome pics Greg – love the deep drop off into that rich black! Great moments! I’ve done a few black and white only weddings, and I love, love, love them! Black and white only albums and coffee table books. Just great! Wish I could talk all my clients into it. Though I’m sure as soon as I start doing that I’ll want to do only colour again!

Some of your best work yet! Terrific use of natural lighting. As well, kudos on utilizing the unexpected weather and turning it into a creative feature. Great work!

One of your best albums. Each image is a masterpiece, capturing emotion that is so real. I love the album more because all the images are black and white which adds that dramatic and timeless feel to them. The car shot is amazing. Keep inspiring with your work :)
