Alternative Groom Portraiture Cape Wedding

I did this shot with Lance a few weeks ago, he was great and being an architect a very creative person at that. When we were doing the couple shots I decided to go the unconventional wedding photography route and do an unusual portrait of Lance (as I do)…

When I work with people I often don’t have an exact pose in mind, I tend to get a feel for what they are like and then create images based on their personalities or what I would imagine they feel comfortable with. There is no use asking someone who does not feel confident to do a model pose or to ask someone who’s idea of fun is reading the dictionary to “ravish” his new wife!

Well you can try but the discomfort is blatantly obvious in the resulting images!

I’d watched Lance with his mates and every now and again he’d do a bit of a gangsta (spelling intended) move with them… I had an idea… :)

Great idea. I really like to see your photos and understand how to take better candid photos.
