Kevin and Nicola’s wedding was at the relatively new venue 401 Rozendal in Stellenbosch. From the get go Nicola and her bridesmaids made me feel instantly welcome, it’s so easy to be inspired when that happens! I’d never done a wedding at 401 Rozendal so I was keen to see the venue because I’d seen pictures that other Cape Town wedding photographers had done there and it looked great!
By the way, the great Decor was done by Nicola and her family, don’t you love those name tags!!
The ceremony was held in the “Attic” of the venue which is beautifully rustic, while the rest of the venue is very modern – any wedding photographer loves contrasts like that because it means we have many different scenarios to work with when taking photos.
Not surprisingly, working with Kevin and Nicola through the couples photos was a total breeze with my sense of humour being easily shadowed by Kevin’s!! I make many comments (some quite risqué) while shooting to get a reaction out of my couples… there is usually a moment of “shock” followed by laughter… click! For this time Kevin had me reacting with a moment of shock followed by laughter!
GET A COUCH!!!
Or any props that would look great in photos… huh? Well since 401 Rozendal has a patio for guests the couple had hired a few great couches for it. Since I often do night-shoots these were perfect to use for a few snaps later… look below and you will see what I mean, they came out brilliantly (Not without the help of Kevin and Nicola I might add)
