I’ve photographed a lot of weddings over the years, and one thing I still get quietly excited about is... shoes and perfume bottles. (post to come) Sounds odd, I know. But there’s something about a beautifully made pair that just works and looks great in a photo. Whether they’re designer heels, personalised sneakers or barefoot-on-the-beach vibes, they tell part of the story.
I’ve seen it all, Christian Louboutins with that signature red sole. Jimmy Choos that sparkle like something out of a fairytale, Badgley Mischkas with soft, romantic detailing. Wedding shoes are personal. Whether it’s a designer label or something totally off the cuff, they always says something about the person wearing them.
Don't get me wrong, this post isn’t meant to tell you what to wear. I wouldn’t and I'm horrendously underqualified. But if you’re looking for a bit of wedding shoes inspiration, maybe for your own day or just for the fun of it, here are some favourites I’ve photographed along the way.
